An ombudsman is an independent office or official that helps receive, review, and address complaints about government agencies or public services. They are meant to promote accountability, fairness, and transparency, but they do not provide legal representation. If you feel your case is being handled wrong you can file a complaint with the ombudsman for Alaska here.

This website is a guide provided by Alaska for family members that are involved with CPS. I have not fully read it but I imagine it goes towards more of policies and procedures for family members participating in Kinship Care, however I imagine there is a lot of information anyone dealing with Alaska CPS could use.
